Data Deletion Policy

How users can delete account data and what limits may apply.

Deleting your app account

  • A logged-in user can request deletion from the Account page. The deletion step requires the current password and an explicit confirmation phrase.
  • Account deletion removes the user login, saved cases, uploaded document records, extracted text, generated drafts, deadline reminders, security settings, and mobile access tokens from the active application database.
  • Uploaded files stored for the user's cases are removed from the active upload folder when the deletion request is processed.

Billing and subscriptions

  • Deleting an app account does not by itself cancel an active Stripe, Apple App Store, or Google Play subscription.
  • Users should cancel or manage paid subscriptions through the Account page, Stripe billing portal, Apple subscriptions, or Google Play subscriptions before deleting the app account.
  • Payment processors may retain transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, and compliance records according to their own policies and legal obligations.

Data that may remain temporarily

  • Backup copies, audit logs, security logs, email-delivery logs, billing records, and fraud-prevention records may remain for a limited period after deletion.
  • Some information may be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, security, dispute, abuse-prevention, or compliance reasons.
  • When retained data is no longer needed for those limited purposes, it will be deleted or de-identified according to operational retention practices.

Support requests

  • If a user cannot access the account page, they may contact support from the account email and request help with deletion, correction, or access.
  • Support may need reasonable identity verification before changing, exporting, or deleting account information.
  • Do not include passwords, full Social Security numbers, or unnecessary sensitive documents in support emails.
Attorney review recommended.

These policies are practical startup templates for this app. They should be reviewed by qualified counsel before broad public launch, paid subscriptions, or use in additional jurisdictions.
